Contracts – PAR118
Draft a simple (2-3 pages) contract that has you representing a new rap artist as his or her agent. Make up the names, places, etc. Word docs preferred!
You want to make sure that both you and your new artist are covered for things like compensation, duration of the deal, jurisdiction if it should go bad, etc. Any special provisions similar to sports contracts, etc.
Basic format would be:
• Contract Title
• Preface paragraph that describes who is contracting and where they live.
• The clauses (make them separate with their own heading!)
• Other conditions (also their own headings)
• Signature blocks
Don’t freak out! I don’t expect this to be law school or first year attorney level, but I do expect you to understand how to put the basics in a contract. It is okay for you to look around at samples, but don’t copy something or I will have to find you and send you to the gallows!
