Process layout is the arrangement of equipment that performs the same functions as one another in order to isolate each process while keeping the units close together (Moran, 2017). For example, in a Christian setting, public address systems will be housed in an audio-visual department, while the materials required to print gospel messages will be found in a printing facility (Augustine & Green, 2014).

Working in this manner allows for greater flexibility, lesser investment due to a smaller taskforce, no interruption of output in the event of a breakdown, and increased capacity for growth as a result of increased production capacity. Process layout also ensures that equipment is utilized to its best potential and that better oversight is provided (Moran, 2016). While it does have its advantages, the layout process also has its disadvantages. Material handling is difficult to automate, resulting in inefficiency in its operation. A significant amount of space, a significant amount of money, and the recruitment of highly qualified human resources are all required, and these are both expensive and difficult to come by. Furthermore, it takes more time to create and necessitates the use of more expensive supervision services (Moran, 2016).

As Christians, we may find ourselves in a predicament where we must decide whether or not to use this strategy in our daily lives. It is necessary to consider the risks and advantages, as well as to apply ethical beliefs that are supported by scripture (Utterback, 2013). In order to maintain Grand Canyon University’s Christian Identity and Heritage, it is necessary to employ ethical methods such as utilitarianism, which means that the decisions we make should be done with the best interests of others in mind (“Bible Gateway passage: John 15:12-14 – New International Version,” 2019). Christians can use this idea to undertake a risk-benefit analysis of the process approach that they should use in their daily life (Zammori, Braglia & Castellano, 2015)

As seen in the preceding sections, the layout process offers both advantages and downsides. It is quite difficult to settle on a good strategy, and this may necessitate a collaborative effort in order to choose the best course of action. When it comes to organizing a Christian organization, I would strongly recommend that you use the process layout.
