employee safety. Another source of information was industry practices and guidelines
for companies in the tobacco sector
The risk assessment was conducted in In the Smart Globe House in London offices from 1st March to 30th
May in the manufacturing stores and officers as the two main areas where employees are most likely to be
exposed to hazards and potential safety issues
I spoke to the managing director at BAT to get his approval to conduct the company’s risk assessment of
safety issues. We agreed that I would provide my assessment results if I identified any safety problems
that required the management’s attention after the managing director’s consent, I proceeded with the
risk assessment and identified potential hazards, their negative implications, and strategies BAT could
introduce to eradicate them

The employment principle under the labour law stipulates that employers should treat all employees
fairly and guarantee their health and safety. BAT has guidelines for all its global companies to ensure

work environment for its workers. The company produces Personal Protective Equipment, including

Introducing fewer noise machines is vital in reducing the noise employees experience. The company
is also working on training employees and contractors on how to use noise equipment is paramount to
safeguarding their health and safety
The time scale for the action is justifiable as the company has to make some adjustments to its budget

The action will take complete control of the risk because employees and contractors will be protected
with proper training on noise pollution and new equipment capable of reducing excessive noise. I will
take part in the installation of machines and training to ensure everything flows effectively to handle
this risk

necessary measures against dust pollution to protect employees.
BAT has ordered new PPE equipment against dust to deal with this risk. They include gloves,

having enough protective equipment, employees understand how to handle them to protect
themselves.

I started the risk assessment exercise on 1st March and The time frame was appropriate for this exercise
because it would give the company enough time to respond. I have identified the hazards employees’
at BAT face and what could be done to safeguard their health and safety. I will provide the company
with this report and schedule a meet to discuss how to deal with identified risks.
