The topic I have selected for my epidemiological research paper is addiction, specifically the epidemiology of opioid addiction. The opioid epidemic is a significant public health concern that has affected communities across the United States. In this paper, I will detail each of the epidemiological triad pieces, including the host, vector, environment, and agent, in both a diagram and a short written narrative.

Host:
The host in the epidemiology of opioid addiction is individuals who are at risk of or currently suffering from opioid addiction. These individuals may be of any age, gender, or socioeconomic background, but certain populations are at a higher risk of developing opioid addiction.
