Working as a Registered Nurse (RN) and a graduate of MSN public health nursing involves identifying patient needs and implementing and assessing patients’ treatment plans. RN assess patients to determine the physical examination and health history (Miranda et al., 2018). The collection of subjective and objective data is vital in achieving an accurate diagnosis. I am responsible for ensuring adherence to the standards of practice and the adoption of evidence-based care.
The skills and knowledge I have acquired include organizational skills, critical thinking, being alert and observant, kind and compassionate, and stress management. The skills comprise excellent communication skills, dedication, and patience (Hamel et al., 2019). The knowledge acquired includes technology skills, patient safety, urgent and emergency care, patient and family education. The skills and knowledge are essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
The professional goals include enhancing technological skills, getting appropriate certifications, improving communication skills, and becoming an expert in specific tasks. My personal goals in nursing include improving emotional intelligence, building strong relationships, developing a growth mindset, and growing my network. I will strive to improve my time management skills and find new challenges to prompt personal growth. The personal and professional goals are critical for improving patient safety.
The action plan will include the actions and timelines to achieve the professional developmental goals. The timelines are essential to ensure I break down the achievements into specific outcomes.
