Architecture Principles, vision, and requirements
• Deal with outstanding issues – the EA components that will enable the Westpac to deal with outstanding issues such as credit risk is the management of the e-banking system. The enterprise will also deal with the outstanding issues through the EA content structure that offers consistency in the technology output in the enterprise to achieve effective and on-time service provision. The content framework component of the EA will also enable the information system technologies in the enterprise to communicate effectively and ain real time across each department providing employees with enough information to solve outstanding issues.
• Maintain momentum in our customer franchise – The achievement of momentum maintenance in the enterprise’s customer franchise can be achieved through the modular structure component of the EA. The modular structure component supports usability of the aspects involved in customer management including technologies. The component also defines eh purpose of the each information technology and offers application support that enhances the company ability to maintain momentum in its customer franchise through better decision making, effective communication, and effective service and product delivery.
• Structural cost reduction – The components of EA that would be utilized in achieving structural cost reduction include organizational architecture and business architecture. The organizational and business architecture through the extended guidance, which incorporates sets of guidance and concepts that deliver suitable, fair and clear outcomes for customers.
Specific areas of focus include:
• Improving the identification, escalation, and resolution of non-financial risk issues across the Group, with a particular focus on financial crime related issues
• Enhancing our end-to-end lending processes
• Providing more detailed reporting on operational and compliance incidents to the Executive team and Board
• Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of committee meetings
• Clarifying and strengthening resources under the ‘Three Lines of Defence’ approach to risk management
• Improving awareness and protection for whistle-blowers.
