offers the opportunity for you to identify and articulate your personal philosophy, values, and
beliefs that will guide your nursing practice. The paper will be revisited and updated to include
in your e-portfolio prior to graduation.

2. Engage in personal and professional development that integrates self-care, emotional
intelligence, leadership development, and the commitment of career-long learning.
Course Objective: Appreciate the concept of evidence-based practice and the dissemination of
nursing knowledge as a critical element of scholarly practice.
Instructions:
1. Write a 3-5-page paper (not including a title page or reference page) discussing your
personal nursing philosophy.
2. The paper must be written using APA 7th ed. format.
3. The paper must include the following:
a. Title page
b. Introduction
c. Conclusion
d. Reference page
4. The paper must address the following content:
a. Define of a philosophy of nursing
b. Discuss the importance of a philosophy to nursing and the impact it has on
patient care.
c. Define values and beliefs, separately.
d. Identify personal values and beliefs related to nursing, distinguishing between
the two.
e. Define conscious and unconscious biases.
f. Acknowledges personal conscious biases related to nursing.
g. Discuss your personal nursing philosophy related to your values, beliefs, and
biases
h. Discuss how your personal philosophy will guide your education and practice as a
