The purpose of this assessment is to provide students with the opportunity to critically evaluate secondary reports of psychological research. By completing this assessment, the students should show that they know when the secondary reports of psychology research are credible and how to gather additional information about research by finding, reading and evaluating the original research report.
The assessment is due onSunday of Week 3 at 11:59 pm. Late submission will incur a penalty of5% per day(including weekends) of the total available marks. Due to the intensive nature of the program, under no circumstances will an extension be given for longer than 3 working days after the initial deadline. You are required to complete a critical reflection ontwo pieces of psychological researchpresented in the media. You can choose any articles from popular media outlets or popular psychology magazines that relate to personality, social, and cultural psychology. You will be required to find the original research papers published in peer-reviewed journals and to answer a series of questions related to these papers. You will also have to answer questions about the validity of the popular press reports of these research papers.
For each research you need to provide the following information and answer the following questions:
