What cultural frameworks of “right” and “wrong” did you grow up with?

I grew up in a middle-class family in the United States. My parents were both college-educated and worked in professional careers. They instilled in me a strong sense of right and wrong, based on the values of honesty, integrity, respect, and compassion. They taught me that it is important to be kind and helpful to others, to stand up for what I believe in, and to always do my best.

These values were communicated to me through a variety of ways. My parents talked to me about them, they modeled them in their own lives, and they held me accountable for living up to them. How did those influence your interpretation of the BACB Code?

Working collaboratively with my clients to develop treatment plans that meet their individual needs.

There are always ways to improve. I am always looking for ways to better understand my clients’ perspectives and to better meet their needs. I am also working on becoming more assertive in advocating for my clients’ rights.

There are always ways to improve. I am always looking for new and innovative ways to help my clients. I am also working on becoming more proactive in identifying and addressing potential risks to my clients.
