_______________________

The purpose of this paper is to summarize an interview with an advanced practice nurse (APN) in the field of adult gerontology. The APN interviewed is a nurse practitioner (NP) who has been practicing in this field for over 10 years. She works in a private practice setting and sees patients of all ages, but her specialty is working with older adults.

The interview was conducted in the NP’s office. The NP was very welcoming and eager to share her experiences with me. She answered all of my questions thoughtfully and in detail. I learned a great deal about the role of an APN in adult gerontology, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have interviewed her.
