Clinical measures refer to the mechanisms used for assessing treatments, observations, experience, and outcome of the patient care. Health status measures, on the other hand, means the critical analysis done on the progress of a patient under treatment or care. Utilization measures in healthcare refer to the control of healthcare facilities in the process of conducting treatment to the patient. Lastly but not least is the patient satisfaction measures which direct the healthcare environment to employ all the required effort in solving the patients’ unhealthy status to full recovery. In addition to health care measure introductory, this paper further entails a deep discussion on performance measures that are required in a healthcare facility.
Generally, performance measures which entail all the above-discussed measures in a healthcare facility; makes the healthcare facility become efficient or better in boosting the health sector. This has been a major focus for most healthcare leading to making of surveys such as SHP for HHCAHPS (“HHCAHPS”, 2017). The important portions of the performance measures are the saving of lives from the provision of better healthcare. The saving of lives is attained from the efficiency instilled by health workers in the healthcare facility. To be specific good patient care is enhanced and better treatment provided because of performance measures.
Performance measures focus on various categories for the establishment of quality and outcome management (Peterson at all, 2010). One of the areas focused on is the healthcare staff’s education and experience merits. This ensures recruitment of qualified staffs in the facility. Another area focused on, is the facility environment; in terms of equipment’s, medicine and structures. This area ensures appropriate supply and environment is created to better the health condition of the patients. Lastly but not least performance measures focuses on the medical data or rather patients reviews. These reviews enable the management sector of the facility better their services.
