Introduction and Evidence Research

The Assignments will be based on the Paper Writing Service – Topic Examples – Rubric, which is attached. There has to be an introduction based on Emilia in the Sanchez family (link I provided) and to use the rubric which is attached in the screen shots. Within the link, Emilia Sanchez has her history – family, concerns – and goals. The intro is based on her and the evidence based approach to her concerns and how to approach the goals (I believe). It is a bit confusing I know, my entire class is confused. It is going to be: Identifies 3 search terms; 2 major sites. Informs as to how many entries resulted and how many were relevant. Formulates 3 EBP – appropriate questions which address identified issue. Based search on the questions you formulated; explained what you found. I attached the one for the final paper, because nothing seems to correlate to one another.

Search Terms
In the social research work, the selected research topic is to address the issue of mental health care and challenges within the United States.
The three search terms include mental health care, mental illness, and coverage of mental health care. The three terms are important in providing a comprehensive research on how to address the issue of mental health care in the United States. It would also assist in providing the issues, and ways involve the health care department in the United States is addressing the problem. For example, the search term of coverage of mental health care reviews how the government can deliver health care to the population in the United States. It would provide the rate of health care coverage.
Two sites that can be provided information about the mental health care includes the google scholar and mental health.gov. These two search sites are reliable as they present credible and accurate data about the problem of mental health care. For example, mentalhealth.gov is a useful site as it presents data and comprehensive on how to address mental health. It could present data on the rates of mental illness in the United States today.
Question Formulation
To address the social research work on mental health care issues, the research questions to be addressed includes
1. What is the level of coverage of mental health treatment in the United States?
2. What is the access to mental health care compared to other types of medical services?
3. What are some of the recent federal and state legislations required to improve the mental health care services?
Evidence Search
I strongly based my search on questions designed in the research study. The three research questions were useful in guiding to present data and information on the issue of mental health care. The sites were able to offer technical and comprehensive information on the impacts of mental health care programs. In the United States, the social issue of mental health illness has been highlighted on numerous occasions.
In the first research question, it was possible to align the search with the nature of coverage of mental health treatment in the United States. In most occasions, without the research question, it would be difficult to direct the research work on evaluating the level of coverage of mental health treatment. Based on Corrigan et al. (2014)’s research study, it shows that depression is one of main mental health care conditions in the U.S. It found out that around 7 percent of the U.S adults suffers from depression. The phrase, “am depressed” is common in the United States. It defines the state of losing interest or pleasure, and it can be reflected by the change in body functioning including challenges with sleep, energy, and self-image among others (Jones, et al., 2015). Depression is a huge concern which is prevalent in addressing common health problems. Other conditions include ADHD which around 5% of the U.S adults are likely to possess in the society.
The second research question was useful in evaluating how mental health care access compares to the access to the other types of medical care services. It is clear that the access to mental health professionals is worse compared to other types of doctors. The shortage of mental health professionals shows the challenge facing the development of improved mental health programs. Blackwell, Lucas, and Clarke (2014) notes that mental health care is costly due to the challenges of providing primary care aspects.
In addition, the research offers evidence that the attitudes towards the mental health programs and services are a major barrier to health care. The negative attitude towards promoting mental health care services has limited the ability of the professionals to deliver their services. For example, persons suffering from mental health care are highly unlikely to seek mental health care treatment (Kidd, Kenny & McKinstry, 2015). In spite of all, financial obstacles such as costs reflect the high costs of mental health care. It shows that the government should be able to invest heavily in the mental health care programs and provisions.
Most importantly, the question on the recent federal legislations implemented to improve mental health care services was useful. Based on the Mentalhealth.gov, the recent legislations include the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Act of 2008 (Patel et al., 2013). The Act is applied to the employer-based insurance coverage programs and plans. It usually limits the insurers from placing financial barriers to the access to mental health care which is higher than the barriers created for physical treatment plans.
Also, the Affordable Care Act develops additional mental health provisions, which requires the insurers to sell exchanges that comprise of treatment in the benefit programs. It is important for the government to impose laws and regulations that improve access to health care treatment (Bishop, Press, Keyhani, & Pincus, 2014). The ACA has been able to improve access to mental health treatment, and the government should put more efforts in improving mental health care treatment.
In summary, the evidence research on mental health care depends on the major sites and the research questions. The formulation of the research questions is based on the key objectives of the research study. The key objective was to understand the aspect of mental health care in the United States. The research questions provide specific topics and information to promote the aspects of mental health care. As a result, the review of mental health care and illnesses is important in improving the health of the Americans.
