For this reflection each student will evaluate their experiences working within their interdisciplinary team. You reflect on your interprofessional skill development by considering the successes and challenges your team faced and how working in an interdisciplinary team can help disseminate accurate and appropriate information and provide logical and useful recommendations to the community during a public health event. Additionally, you provide an assessment of the performance of your team and a self-reflection.

Description of at least one commonality shared among interdisciplinary teammates
One of the commonalities shared among the interdisciplinary teammates is skill mix. A conducive environment fosters skill development among healthcare workers. The skill mix was an essential characteristic of the nursing staff. It boosts collaboration among healthcare workers to realize quality patient outcomes (Fox et al., 2018). The interdisciplinary teams encouraged a diversity of skills to improve the ability to deliver accessible and quality care. Skill diversity is an essential aspect among the teammates since it creates job satisfaction opportunities among the workers. The commonality is effective in depicting professionalism in interdisciplinary teammates.
Description of at least one barrier or challenge encountered working as an interdisciplinary team
One of the challenges of working in an interdisciplinary team is the lack of clearly stated, shared, and measurable purpose. An interdisciplinary team requires strategic direction to work effectively (Fox et al., 2018). Lack of shared purpose is detrimental to the performance of teams. The interdisciplinary took a lot of time before establishing a common purpose. The delay was critical in affecting the satisfaction of the team members. Delay affected the ability to achieve the goals on time. In the future, I believe interdisciplinary teams should set their goals on time to avoid delays that can affect their performance.

Interdisciplinary teams comprise of individuals that personal knowledge and skills to the team. It was effective in the dissemination of accurate information and making responses during the hall meeting. One of the team’s benefits was the combination of knowledge from various professionals (Foronda et al., 2016). The professionals offered their experience, skills, and ongoing education knowledge to provide the best responses. It was effective since the interdisciplinary team had professionals with varying experiences and skills. The skills and experiences were crucial in providing the best responses. It was unlike individuals who could not provide quality responses to diverse questions.
Reflection on personal contributions to the interdisciplinary team
The interdisciplinary team’s contributions involved keeping the entire team informed that the focus is on the patient. I was always ready to inform the team on issues that could affect the patients. It was my duty always to alert the team on the possible alternatives. Another contribution is developing a correct medical summary to ensure all the stakeholders are aware of the patient’s accurate medical condition. Another contribution was to provide evidence-based information to help the interdisciplinary team make accurate decisions.
Team Member Assessment: communication, timeliness, and effort
All the team members did not meet the requirement to communicate respectfully and on time. One team member did not communicate on time on the inability to hand in their research work on time. The issue affected the ability of the group to deliver the work on time. All the members did not deliver quality work. For instance, one of the members delivered the work without appropriate citations and references.
Self-Reflection: communication, timeliness, and effort
I did not communicate effectively to the team about meeting all deadlines. In one instance, I took a friend to the hospital at night, leading to a delay in delivering the required task the following day. I failed to hand in the task on time due to the incident. However, I completed my assigned with all the effort necessary to deliver quality and well-referenced research.
