The Psychology of Tress: How Trees Communicate and Form Social Relationships

The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to organize your thoughts and notes and serve as a means to check your preparations for APA format presentations (proper section headings and appropriate subsections if needed). The outline also gives the instructor a chance to provide you with feedback as to what might need more clarification or additional reference material. The sources found in week 2 should be listed as references at the end.   

The paper should be in APA format with a separate title page (with your working title), the outlined body of the paper, and a separate reference page that includes all of the references you have gathered. The outline should contain all of the thoughts and concepts that are to be presented in the course paper and include the required section headings of Introduction, Discussion, and Conclusion. You may also decide to break down these sections into subsections, each with their own headings (see example text) if you choose. The outline may contain either notes or sentences and conform to any of the approved outline options found in the example document, but should contain more than just the headings.  

Outline must include an Introduction, concept heading for each major subtopic, Discussion, and Conclusion.

To make sure your outline adheres to what will be expected in the course paper, be sure to keep in mind the expected section outcomes for the course paper:  

The Introduction is to be brief (no more than half of a page) and introduces the topic and the relevance of the topic to the field of psychology and environmental science (or animal science).
The subtopics are meant to break the topic down into smaller focused topics that will serve as the background and literature review. Your preliminary scholarly sources will serve as a guideline for the headings in this section. There should be no more than three subtopics that serve as headings in this part of the paper.
The Discussion is to be your interpretation of the findings in the papers you found in addition to your own thoughts on how this answers your research question and addresses the major topic. This section should also cover any missing researcher or future research to be considered in this field.
The Conclusion should be short (one paragraph) and summarize the major concepts of the paper including your perspectives. It should tie together all of the thoughts and ideas and serve as the final end to your paper and the findings.
