Part 1: Social media represents low-cost tools that are used to combine technology and social interaction with the use of words. These tools are typically internet or mobile based. Social Media gives marketers a voice and a way to communicate with peers, customers and potential consumers. It personalizes the “brand” and helps you to spread your message in a relaxed and conversational way. The downfall to social media, if you could call it that is that it must be a part of your everyday life in order to keep the momentum and attention you need for it to be successful. Part 2: There is huge demand in countries like China for public relations because of the continued growth of the country. There are 240 million global consumers in China and 120 million in India alone (Seitel, 2013). With this many consumers demanding to become more knowledgeable and need to know more there has to be an incredibly large public relations department to cover all the vast products and services. Part 3: Even though every bit of news and advertising has changed due to social media I believe that writing is still the most important part of public relations. Most types of communication on social media are brief tidbits about whatever it is that you want to write about. However, with professional writing there is much more detail to be communicated to the reader who is there just to clearly research (Seitel, 2013). Half of the reports and accusations on social media I personally find to be untrue but, if I see something that interests me then I will click the advertisements. From there if it is enough to interest me then I will go do my own research from a professional write.
