THIS IS MY STUDY PAPER Research Paper on World War II Adolf Hitler invaded Poland on September 1, 1939, one year after the Munich Agreement. For him, the goal was to exterminate all Jews. Britain and France promised to Help Poland, but Britain was too far away for their air force to Help, and France refused to Help because they were afraid of the Germans. Poland lacked a navy and an air force to combat the enemy. They also invaded Poland and the Soviet Union at the same time, as their military was insufficient to attack the Germans and the Soviets. The War was declared on September 27, and the organized resistance was defeated by October 5. In May 1942, the British Royal Air Force launched a thousand bomber raid on the German city of Cologne, bringing the war to Germany for the first time. President Johnson announced two months after the meeting that US forces in Vietnam would be increased by 1968. On November 11, 1942, the failure of French armed forces to prevent the Allied occupation of Morocco and Algeria resulted in a German occupation of collaborationist Vichy France. As the war progressed, the Nazis slaughtered an increasing number of Jews. US planes bombed North Vietnam all the way to the border with itchiness. Mussolini was envious of Hitler, but he was naturally drawn to form an alliance with Germany; Italy could have joined with allied countries, but they would not have supported Mussolini’s expansion plans in the same way that Hitler did. In 1939, Italy seized Albania. To ensure Germany’s victory, Italy invaded France on June 10, 1940, but they were unsuccessful. Despite Mussolini’s failure, Hitler rewarded him for attacking France. As the war progressed, the United States was unable to Help because it was not a member of the League of Nations and was not allied with anyone. Following the outbreak of the war, the United States remained neutral as required by law. The US would lend Britain 50 or 60 US destroyers in exchange for the right to use British bases in the Western Hemisphere. People in the United States believed that if the Germans defeated the British and the Soviet Union, Germany would invade and fight in the United States, so they declared that they would fight as far away from the United States as possible. Approximately 62 percent of the people followed the president’s order to shoot-on-site. With London in flames, many Americans expected German bombers to attack New York or Washington, D.C. The United States also played a significant role in the War by initiating the Lend-Lease Program. This was to give Britain money, just as the isolationists had predicted. He was not going to lend money to Britain, but rather munitions and armaments. After Germany invaded it in the summer of 1941, it would also go to the Soviet Union. After several weeks of debate, Congress agreed to allow warring nations to buy arms and other goods as long as they paid in cash and transported them on foreign ships. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The first bomb was dropped on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. The Americans were caught off guard by the surprise attack. As a result, the Japanese commander declared, “it will be a surprise attack.” When blips appeared on the radar, there were men watching it, but the Navy ignored it. They assumed it was the planes arriving from California. Within minutes of the arrival of the first wave of Japanese attackers, Pearl Harbor was transformed into a scene of horror, destruction, and confusion, with the United States. A torpedo struck the battleship USS West Virginia, resulting in a series of explosions. A torpedo hit the USS Arizona, and its blazes set fire to the USS Tennessee. The first bomb and its payload were dropped by the United States at 8:15 a.m. It exploded 45 seconds later at a height of two thousand feet above the city. Four square miles of ground zero (if the bomb had landed) would have vanished in an instant. In the Japanese city of Hiroshima, nothing remained, many people died, and everything vanished. On August 9, 1945, just three days after dropping the first bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, the United States dropped a second bomb over Nagasaki, killing 40,000 people and more. The nuclear bomb used against Nagasaki, Japan, was dubbed “Fat Man.” And it was ten feet long, weighed 10,000 pounds, and had a yield equivalent to 20,000 tons of high explosives. The USS California was refloated, rebuilt, and re-launched into battle. Nonetheless, 90 percent of the US air and sea power in the mid-Pacific was destroyed or immobilized. Adolf Hitler survived an assassination attempt in 1944 but committed suicide in 1945. The war came to an end on June 6, 1944, which became known as D-Day. The Cold War began before WWII ended. The United States and the Soviet Union marched on Berlin, intent on destroying Hitler’s capital. Less than six years later, the war was over, the Allies had defeated the Axis alliance, and Adolf Hitler no longer ruled.
