1. Discuss in detail the government’s measures to ‘make life more affordable’ for Canadians? Are these
good enough to really help out those who are in the low to middle income brackets? Which of these do
you think will be most effective and why? Are any of these not necessary or irrelevant? (5 Marks)
2. Consider the Canada Growth Fund, and the other metrics and statistics provided about the Canadian
business community? Do any of these tie in closely to the principles of microeconomics we have studied
in this course? Which ones and exactly how? (5 Marks)
3. Why do cryptocurrencies ‘pose a challenge to democratic institutions’? Where are these
cryptocurrencies originating from? What will be the effect on Canada’s money supply if Canadians start
using cryptocurrencies extensively? Will this help bring the national budget out of a deficit position? (5
Marks)
4. Based on how your group views this report, are we presently in a recession or is there one coming?
How long can we expect it to last? How does this compare to the position of other countries in the
