2. Essay must be between 1200-1500 words.
3. Essay must be supported by 3-5 different sources, beyond the course texts, to provide evidence from a variety of expert
voices.
a. Sources chosen should be from credible sources from the fields of education, history, psychology, etc. and must be
current. Sources can not be older than 10 years old. These should not be blogs or other unresearched
documents. You can start with the databases available at the KCKPS Library:

b. The support evidence used in your essay, either quoted or paraphrased, must be cited appropriately in APA format.
c. Seek guidance from an APA style guide online to be sure you are using the correct formatting, especially for in-text
citations and the REFERENCES page when using evidence from text. Here is a link to a style guide where you might
start.
4. Create an APA Reference page that is correctly formatted. This is not included in the 1200-1500 words. Refer to this sample
reference page or any others available online.
5. DO NOT start this essay until your topic is approved by the course instructor in the coming weeks.
