2. Articulate the complex relationship that tourism has with culture and society, reasoning from a position informed by emerging perspectives on international policy in planning for tourism development.

What am I required to do in this assignment?

Many modern global issues impact societies in the current era. Based on your learning in the unit prepare a consultancy report for submission to your local DMO of a strategy for implementation to address one such issue in a destination of your choice. There are a lot of global issues that affect societies in the present day. Based on what you’ve learned in this unit, make a consulting report for your local DMO about a way to deal with one of these problems in a place of your choice.

Your focus MUST be on how the destination can successfully address the problem to ensure a vibrant tourism product with positive impact on the local culture and society.

• The word limit is 4,000 words including footnotes (but excluding the references.) There is a 10% leeway either way.
• A referencing and bibliography (where applicable) is essential. A minimum of 20 referenced academic sources are required. No more than 50% of references may be from the internet.
• Coursework should be properly referenced using the Harvard Referencing System and should include a list of references. Students should note that correct referencing is one of the assessment criteria.
