CC (Cloud) Discussion Question and Response
The major difference between a virtual private cloud and a public cloud is in management and maintenance of datacentres and security. Using a virtual private cloud is important because the organization has full control over its data center. An organization can choose cloud resources that can fit the organization’s infrastructure. I can rcommend a virtual private cloud when an organization does not want to share its services, and when the organization has valuable data centers (Foxhoven,et,al.,2019). The ability to have full control over the cloud includes activities, such as the configuration of network gateways, selection of IP addresses, and configuration of route tables. Also, I can recommend a virtualprvate cloud when an organization requires faster and easier access to applications and resources through the use of IPv6 and IPv4.
Additionally, I can recommended avirtual private cloud when the organization wants to host a multi-tier web application and a public-facing website with additional security and privacy, especially when hosted by Amazon (Foxhoven,et,al.,2019). Also, a private cloud can be recommended when the user wants to connect a cloud application to a datacentre because of security purposes and the availability of data recovery sites for business continuity.
On the other side, I can recommend a public cloud when an organization has no valuable or much important dataset (Baskar, Venkatesan, and Sangeetha, 2020). Also, a public cloud does not incur extra costs, such as configuration and maintaining privacy and security, because the host company offers security services (Shakir, Hammood, and Muttar, 2018). Small businesses prefer the public cloud, while large businesses prefer the private cloud. A public cloud can be recommended because of Amazon’s web services and the Azure cloud service provider, which are the top cloud providers that promote cloud-based services and secure organizations’ information.
I considered the security, flexibility, accountability, customizability, management and maintenance, cost, and time. Private clouds are more secure, flexible to changes, and customizable, especially in choosing the desired resources (Foxhoven,et,al.,2019). A public cloud is easier to manage and maintain than a private cloud (Baskar, Venkatesan, and Sangeetha, 2020). It does not incur high costs, especially the cost of configuration, and with a good host provider, s security is guaranteed.

I agree with the student that a virtual private cloud involves maintaining a private cloud in a public cloud, such as Amazon. Regardless of cost, choosing a virtual private cloud is the best option, especially since the cloud has the freedom to select resources that can fit the organization’s information technology requirements. Also, a virtual private cloud is scalable, where an organization may decide on what to work with, such as the data storage required, security requirements, and network speed. The virtual private cloud allows the organization to reach employees from all locations because the data is not fixed to one location, such as a private cloud within an internal network (Foxhoven,et,al.,2019).

I agree that one can choose a virtual private cloud over a public cloud anytime. Compared to a public cloud, a virtual private cloud allows multi-tier web application hosting, where the user can host database and serves in a public space, such as Amazon web service (Shakir, Hammood, and Muttar, 2018). The ability to conduct a VPN connection is fascinating, where data can be transmitted from one server to another. Another interesting aspect of the virtual private cloud over the public cloud is the ability to customize organizations’ network configuration and manage security through conducting online traffic monitoring and protecting the network from malicious threats through out-of-band and other security services.
