Discussion about Peplau nursing theory
This week, develop a two-part Power Point to discuss:
Part 1:
Peplau was the first nursing theorist to recognize the importance of the nurse–patient connection. Peplau valued information, thinking that a nurse must be well-versed in potential issues that may arise during nurse–patient interactions. Peplau’s theoretical work on the nurse–patient connection is still relevant today.
DONATE PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER
Describe Peplau’s phases of the Nurse-Patient relationship. Align your Peplau theory presentation with a recent practical example.
Part 2:
Discuss Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Theory. Identify and describe the three parts. Incorporate Orem’s idea into a present nursing practice. Cite at least one research source to back up your practice example. 3 external references and the textbook should be included. Title and reference slides should be 14-20 slides.
Proofread your work. Dependence on your computer’s spell- and grammar-checker implies a lack of effort on your behalf, and your grade will suffer accordingly. Mispelled words and grammatical errors will be fined. Before submitting your paper, read it aloud and in silence, making any required adjustments. It helps to have a buddy proofread your writing for obvious mistakes. Handwritten corrections beat uncorrected errors.
Use a 10-12 point typeface (10-12 characters per inch). Smaller type, narrow margins, and single-spaced articles are difficult to read. It is best to let your essay go above the recommended page count than to attempt and squeeze it in.
Increased leading (space between lines), kerning (space between letters) and any other such attempts to “padding” a paper are improper, waste trees, and will not trick your professor.
The paper must be double-spaced with a one-inch margin on all sides. If submitting a hard copy, utilize white paper and dark ink. Reading your essay will make it difficult to follow your reasoning.
CLASSROOM INSTRUCTIONS
Discussion Points (DQ)
Initial DQ submissions should address all aspects of the questions, contain one scholarly source, and be 250 words or less.
Sufficiently developed ideas and at least one scholarly source are required for successful responses.
Responses of one or two sentences, simple agreement or “good post,” and off-topic (sample nursing essay examples by the best nursing assignment writing service) responses will not count as substantive. Responses should be at least 150 words long.
I invite you to use the week’s readings in your comments.
Weekly Engagement
Your initial responses to the obligatory DQ are not included in your participation grade.
You must also react to peers (or me) on three separate days, for a total of three replies.
No scholarly source/citation is required unless you cite someone else’s work.
Your weekly participation includes watching the weekly announcement and commenting on it. These reminders are meant to make sure you know what’s due each day.
APA Style and Writing
Learn and practice the APA format. It is utilized for most degree writing tasks. For APA paper templates, citation examples, and recommendations, visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center in LoudCloud. Points will be reduced for bad APA formatting or lack thereof (if required).
Cite all sources! Remember to cite sources. Paraphrasing necessitates citing.
I highly recommend the 6th edition APA Publication Manual.
Direct Quotes
I penalize overuse of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Masters level.
It is crucial for Masters students to be able to critically assess and interpret information from journals and other sources. Simply repeating someone else’s words does not show comprehension or critical analysis of the topic (sample nursing essay examples by the best nursing assignment writing service).
Paraphrase text and cite sources.
LopesWrite Terms
Please wait until you obtain your report and Similarity Index (SI) percentage before submitting your assignments to LopesWrite.
Please review your report once received. This report will show you easy-to-fix grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes. Take a few more minutes to review instead of being penalized.
Examine your resembl Did you forget to cite? Did you not paraphrase? Is your article dominated by someone else’s ideas?

Late Law
The institution penalizes late assignments by 10% per day. This includes late DQ answers.
If you anticipate submitting an assignment late, please notify me. I am happy to be flexible if notified. Extenuating circumstances may allow us to extend the deadline.
If you don’t contact me before submitting a late assignment, the GCU late policy applies.
Unless we have agreed on an extension, I will not accept assignments two weeks late.
No assignments are accepted after the last class day. No assignment submitted after midnight on the last class day will be graded.
Communication
Communication is vital. You can contact me in several ways:
This is a fantastic location to ask questions about the course topic (sample nursing essay examples by the best nursing assignment writing service) or assignments. If you have a question, chances are one of your peers does too. This is a class forum.
This is a private forum to ask questions or leave remarks. It will be checked every 24 hours.
Homework: Peplau nursing theory Discussion.
This week you will create a two-part Power Point to discuss the following:
Part one:
Peplau was the first nursing theorist to identify the nurse–patient relationship as being central to all nursing care. Peplau valued knowledge, believing that the nurse must possess extensive knowledge about the potential problems that emerge during a nurse–patient interaction. Peplau’s theoretical work on the nurse–patient relationship continues to be essential to nursing practice.
ORDER CUSTOM, PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPER
Describe the phases of the Nurse-Patient relationship as defined by Peplau. Align your presentation regarding the use of Peplau’s theory with a current practice example.
Part two:
Provide a discussion of Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Theory. Identify and explain the three related parts? Identify a current nursing practice example where Orem’s theory would be relevant. Use at least one evidenced-based research article to support your practice example. The PowerPoint should include at least 3 outside references and the textbook. It should include title and reference slides and be 14-20 slides.
You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CLASS
Discussion Questions (DQ)
Initial responses to the DQ should address all components of the questions asked, include a minimum of one scholarly source, and be at least 250 words.
Successful responses are substantive (i.e., add something new to the discussion, engage others in the discussion, well-developed idea) and include at least one scholarly source.
One or two sentence responses, simple statements of agreement or “good post,” and responses that are off-topic (sample nursing essay examples by the best nursing assignment writing service) will not count as substantive. Substantive responses should be at least 150 words.
I encourage you to incorporate the readings from the week (as applicable) into your responses.
Weekly Participation
Your initial responses to the mandatory DQ do not count toward participation and are graded separately.
In addition to the DQ responses, you must post at least one reply to peers (or me) on three separate days, for a total of three replies.
Participation posts do not require a scholarly source/citation (unless you cite someone else’s work).
Part of your weekly participation includes viewing the weekly announcement and attesting to watching it in the comments. These announcements are made to ensure you understand everything that is due during the week.
APA Format and Writing Quality
Familiarize yourself with APA format and practice using it correctly. It is used for most writing assignments for your degree. Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for APA paper templates, citation examples, tips, etc. Points will be deducted for poor use of APA format or absence of APA format (if required).
Cite all sources of information! When in doubt, cite the source. Paraphrasing also requires a citation.
I highly recommend using the APA Publication Manual, 6th edition.
Use of Direct Quotes
I discourage overutilization of direct quotes in DQs and assignments at the Masters’ level and deduct points accordingly.
As Masters’ level students, it is important that you be able to critically analyze and interpret information from journal articles and other resources. Simply restating someone else’s words does not demonstrate an understanding of the content or critical analysis of the content.
It is best to paraphrase content and cite your source.
LopesWrite Policy
For assignments that need to be submitted to LopesWrite, please be sure you have received your report and Similarity Index (SI) percentage BEFORE you do a “final submit” to me.
Once you have received your report, please review it. This report will show you grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors that can easily be fixed. Take the extra few minutes to review instead of getting counted off for these mistakes.
Review your similarities. Did you forget to cite something? Did you not paraphrase well enough? Is your paper made up of someone else’s thoughts more than your own?
Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for tips on improving your paper and SI score. Homework: Peplau nursing theory Discussion.
Late Policy
The university’s policy on late assignments is 10% penalty PER DAY LATE. This also applies to late DQ replies.
Please communicate with me if you anticipate having to submit an assignment late. I am happy to be flexible, with advance notice. We may be able to work out an extension based on extenuating circumstances.
If you do not communicate with me before submitting an assignment late, the GCU late policy will be in effect.
I do not accept assignments that are two or more weeks late unless we have worked out an extension.
As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class. Any assignment submitted after midnight on the last day of class will not be accepted for grading.
Communication
Communication is so very important. There are multiple ways to communicate with me:
Questions to Instructor Forum: This is a great place to ask course content or assignment questions. If you have a question, there is a good chance one of your peers does as well. This is a public forum for the class.
Individual Forum: This is a private forum to ask me questions or send me messages. This will be checked at least once every 24 hours.
