Forensic Toxicology

general information from course (The project will look in detail at fibre tip SPME systems. The most appropriate model compounds will be discussed with the student. Initially the study will focus on maximising efficiency of extraction from aqueous matrix before testing the finalised method on spiked biological matrices such as blood or urine).
Please I preferred writer know about Forensic Toxicology
– For this is project proposal which will be following with dissertation 8000 words for lab base project. My supervisor need from me to use SPME (solid phase microextraction ) Lc tips ( new technique which made by Sigma-Aldresh) and I will use this SPME Lc tips to develop method to extract Morphine and Codeine from blood. For blood extraction I will use protein precipitation or another technique. I will use GC-MS instrument from Agilent.
The structure for this project is:-

• Table of Contents
• Introduction including literature review
• Aims and objectives
• Methods
• Appendix
– Gantt chart
– Budget
– COSHH assessment
– Refer to these in the main document

In details:-
* Introduction ( guidelines from the course)1000–1500 words of literature review/background information
– Review of the literature
– You know what you’re talking about
– You have knowledge of the literature surrounding the topic
• Should contain a rationale for your research
– Why are you undertaking the project
– Why is the research needed
– How your research fills the gap
• Should be placed within the context of existing research
– How does it build upon existing research
• Convince the reader that the research is justifiable.
# Introduction should have background about the using of SPME in drug analysis ( made by who, when start using in drug analysis, mechanism,… etc). Also the same about the new technique (Lc tips). Also brief background about Morphine and codeine as chemical structure and how can detect and extract in urine and blood. The difficulty to use SPME to extract these drugs and derivatization to use in GCMS . Also you need briefly to write about using GCMS to analysis these drugs with using SPME. Introduction should be with headings.

* Aims and objectives (100–200 words)
Require one or two aims
– The aim is the overall driving force of the research
• Also include the objectives
– The objectives are the means by which you intend to achieve the
aims
• These must be clear and succinct

* Method (300–500 words on methodology including starting point method (consumables))
• Describe your proposed research methodology and
– methods and justify their use
– Why have you decided upon your methodology
– Why have you decided to use those particular methods
– Why are other methods not appropriate
• This section should be quite detailed
– Description of exactly how you will make up standards
– Detailed stability plan (days, temperature etc.)
– Instruments use and equipment (GCMS, Centrifuge,….etc)
