Evidence-Based Practice in Healthcare
Evidence-based practice is the conscientious use of current based evidence in deciding about the health care of patients. EBP is the integration of given clinical expertise with the favorable external clinical evidence that is facilitated by systematic research. The practice has undergone gradual evolution that allows the integration of clinical knowledge, research evidence, and the personal values of patients and present circumstances, along with the practice characteristics of the health professionals’ workplace. The evidence-based practice incorporates the skills, training, and experiences of the health professionals while considering the patients’ situations, like financial and social support. In EBP< consideration of these elements during decision making facilitates efficient health care to patients in the form of clinical reasoning.
EBP is essential to effective and efficient health care provision. Health professionals that integrate the concept in their practice cultivate the inquiry attitude, where they question the reasons for making a given decision and search for evidence to Help them to be more practical (Melnyk et al. 33). The application of EBP ensures the wise use of finite health resources through the application of relevant evidence when deciding on funding health care services. Consequently, there are sufficient resources to facilitate the provision of high-quality health care services to patients.
EBP requires Assessment to validate the available evidence and make correct decisions on methods of efficient health care provision. The compelling evidence is inclusive of empirical evidence from randomized controlled trials, and scientific methods like qualitative and quantitative, together with information from scientific principles, case reports, and professional opinion (Miranda et al. 6). However, the existence of unreliable research materials requires a critical appraisal of evidence before health care providers can use it to make clinical decisions. The three main aspects of evidence that require a keen Assessment are’ validity, impact, and applicability (Melnyk 19). Proper investigation of evidence prevents mistakes that occur from making misinformed decisions and enhance high-quality health care through EBP.

Provide APA citations of the four peer-reviewed articles you selected. Be sure to use proper in text citations and cite correctly on the reference page.
Describe the levels of evidence in each of the four peer-reviewed articles you selected, including an explanation of the strengths of using systematic reviews for clinical research. In your summaries, include this information. Where did the study fall in the hierarchy of evidence? What were the identified strengths and limitations of the study? What are the strengths of using systematic reviews?
