I loved reading your post. It is very informative. As you have indicated, big data is indeed a massive analysis of data. It is basically a term that is utilized to illustrate the compilation of data that is big in size and yet increasing rapidly with time. In other words, such data is so massive and intricate that none of the conventional data management tools have the ability to store it or process it effectively (Mayer-Schönberger & Cukier, 2013). Big data generation examples can include stock exchanges, jet engines, social media sites etc. I do agree with you that big data is categorized into structured data, unstructured data, and semi-structured data. It is true that structured data refer to numbers, character strings, and even dates-this data can also be described as any data that is capable of being stored, accessed and processed in a fixed format form. In contrast, unstructured data refers to any data that has no known form. Lastly, I do agree that semi-structured data are those that are in continuous evolution because their parameters are changing; it can also be defined as data that contains both forms of structured and unstructured data and XML file is also a good example of semi-structured data.
