Writing Question essay

I’m working on a writing report and need support to help me learn.

View the following two traditional or “classical” ballet performances. These are examples of the type of dancing that was popular around the time The Rite of Spring was produced. Then view the re-construction of the original performance of The Rite of Spring that I have placed in the Panopto Recordings. Compare and contrast the classical performances with the performance of The Rite of Spring, using concepts and vocabulary from the previous readings and links. Address the music, the choreography (movement and gesture), the costumes and make-up, and the sets. Do so in a minimum of 250 words.

The two examples of traditional or classical ballet dances created shortly before the premiere of The Rite of Spring. View in their entirety :

Les Sylphidesis a short, non-narrative ballet blanc (Links to an external site.). Its original choreography was by Michel Fokine, with music by Frédéric Chopin orchestrated by Alexander Glazunov. Glazunov had already set some of the music in 1892 as a purely orchestral suite, under the title Chopiniana, Op. 46. In that form it was introduced to the public in December 1893, conducted by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
