1.) Pick your favorite Developmental theory (Freud, Erikson, Gesell, Piaget, or Kohlberg). Explain the theory including the different levels within each theory.

a. A pregnant woman and her husband are excited about having their baby in just a month. The couple is asking questions about what they can expect from their newborn. Using the knowledge about typical newborn development, what would you tell her to expect in the first 28 days, and in the first year?

b. The pregnant couple also has a 14-year-old son. Based on the normal developmental milestones, what should the couple expect their son to be achieving at this age? What stage would this 14-year-old be in according to Piaget and Freud? Please explain the stages.

c. The pregnant mother is 9 months along, and getting very uncomfortable. She mentions that she has been unsteady on her feet, and worries that she is going to fall. Using what you have learned about a typical patient’s center of gravity, why do you think the patient is feeling unsteady? What advice could you give the patient to help her?
