In achieving the notions, Columbus County will establish a CEMA department with a physical address at the Columbus city council premises in association with private stakeholders. The CEMA will also involve the integrated public alerts and warning system (IPWAS) often applied by FEMA to ensure that the entire Columbus city is covered. The measures are effective since they aid in saving lives and fast-tracking the recovery process.
Essential in obtaining data to assess the impact of the damage created, provide a platform to disseminate crucial data to save lives, leads to a declaration of disaster to ensure resources are availed and general caution, establishes a combined approach to deal with the tragedy, avails the requisite resources in the form of monetary Helpance or medical attention and advance necessities such as shelter, food, water, technical aid and energy (National academic press, 2007). Moreover, the program is crucial to ensure Columbus town’s economic stability since measures are in place to deal with any form of disaster. Further, they require regular maintenance incurring another cost (Educause, 2010).
