Nurses interact with hundreds of people from different walks of life on a daily basis. Every patient that a nurse encounters is different from the next regarding how they think and perceive healthcare. Some cultural aspects that may directly impact nursing include language. Sometimes, the nurse and the patient do not share a language. It may not be easy to learn about the culture and ways of a patient. Therefore, the nurse should always respectfully engage and ask the patients regarding their health beliefs and customs or anything else that can impact their health care. This allows the nurse to deal with each patient uniquely based on their cultural values, specifically in the context of their health care.
