Title
It is fair to agree that our earth is in a time of anthropogenic-induced climate change. Why? Based on research by scientists as well as current news, the climate seems to be changing at a faster pace than before. Over the past few years, the ice caps have begun melting, sea levels have risen and the average air and ocean temperatures have increased (Luber et al., 12). Human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, and increased agricultural activities have contributed immensely to an increase in the Green House Gases (GHG). Even though Earth has previously undergone changes such as the Medieval Warming period and the Little Ice Age, the case is not similar now. During those times, there were no intense industrial activities to contribute to GHGs. Now, the number of carbon dioxide emissions have increased hence increased temperatures on earth.
There is proof that since the 19th century, surface temperatures have increased due to human activities. These changes can be seen through layers of sedimentary rocks, glaciers, and tree rings (NASA, para. 5). Furthermore, since the mid-20th century, the rate of climate change increased above the normal in comparison to other centuries. In the past, climate change used to be influenced by heat waves from the sun. Recently, climate change can be attributed to industrial revolution since the effects do not add up to the impact of natural causes. The need for man to make more money has been unfair to the environment hence these consequences. Claiming that the climate change is a natural occurrence is not logical since the number prove otherwise. If at all the earth is to revert back to the state where natural cases determined climate, human beings need to adopt a conservatism approach in their ways of life.
