The focus of the article is to examine the role of diversity learning in higher institutions of learning. The objective of the research is to summarize the components of the framework for studying diversity in the higher education literature. The focus is to examine other frameworks including academic achievement and life-long learning. The article shows that with additional research in the k-12 can provide additional insights that enhance policy and practice.
The article relates to what I have read in class by showing the value of diversity and how to uphold it in the learning environment. I agree with the proponents of the research that not all diversity in the learning environment will lead to positive outcomes. However, the study shows that racially homogenous classes leads to better outcomes among the minority learners by boosting a sense of self as well as their future aspirations.
