F.B.I. (Rationale and Analysis of Agency)

PAD 599 Capstone

Capstone PAD 599
Introduction sBackground
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the United States’ local security and intelligence service agency, and its primary role is to enforce federal law. The FBI is a recognized member of the United States intelligence community and is empowered by the United States Department of Justice. The agency reports to the National Intelligence Director and the Attorney General. The Bureau of Investigation was established in 1908 and was renamed the FBI in 1935. The headquarters of the agency are in Washington, D.C.
Functions
The company performs a wide range of functions, including those concerning Americans’ civil rights. The agency is crucial in upholding citizens’ rights, investigating hate crimes, and determining the type of law violations committed by human traffickers, public officials, and involuntary servitude. The agency also ensures that citizens have access to the judiciary to report their violations, in order to respond to their demands. The agency also develops strong working relationships with local and state law enforcement, non-governmental organizations, prosecutors, and minority and majority community groups. The agency fulfills its role of civil rights protection by encouraging citizens to report violations and encouraging and sharing the benefits of sharing intelligence and information. The department is also tasked with developing proactive strategies for recognizing and responding to various trends in the sector.
The FBI also fights corruption in elections, prisons, and international campaigns. The agency investigates violations of federal law by public officials at the state, federal, and local levels of government (Ausensi and Smith 2021). The agency is in charge of investigating fraud involving federal government purchases, funded programs, and contracts. It also deters the threat posed by public corruption within the borders of the country, containing any attempts to increase vulnerability related to weapon trafficking, drugs, dealing espionage, and alien smuggling. The agency also keeps weapons of mass destruction on hand to ensure that there are no chemical, biological, or nuclear incidents that could explode at any time.
The FBI also specializes in deterring organized crime by diluting any crime group that poses a broad threat to citizens and the United States. Migrant smuggling, drug trafficking, and human and fire trafficking are examples of these crimes. Extortion, illegal gambling, cybercrime, cultural and cultural and wildlife property are examples of other organized crimes. Other types of crimes include violent crimes, mass killings, sniper murders, and serial killings, which can paralyze communities and impede the distribution of digital resources. The F.B.I.’s final type of role is to deteriorate by white-collar crimes that are not violent but involve a certain number of victims. White-collar crimes can undermine public trust in government and destroy an organization. White-collar crimes such as corporate fraud, falsification of monetary information, and dealing with sole corporate insiders such as insider trading, individual tax violations, and kickbacks are examples of these white collar tubs assassinations.
Current Situation
The most recent incident involving the F.B.I. occurred on August 8th, 2022, when former President of the United States, Donald Trump, stated that the F.B.I. had conducted a search at his Palm Beach, Florida home, where they proceeded to break open a safe. According to Trump, this account represents a significant step forward in the numerous investigations into the final stages of his presidency. According to those close to Mr. Trump, the search was aimed at his personal belongings, which he had brought to Mar-a-Lago, as well as his private residence and club, which he had secured before leaving the office. The boxes Trump took contained numerous pages of classified documents (Campbell, 2020). According to the F.B.I., Mr. Trump had failed to return the 15 boxes containing the resources required by the National Archives for several months and was declared a threat of action to ensure that the group retrieves them.
Criteria for Rationale
I chose this agency because the F.B.I. plays an important role in social security and government insurance, ensuring that issues pertaining to government insurance are resolved. I’m also excited to see what the future holds for the coming years and what kinds of benefits the agency will be able to provide future generations after Gen-Z and millennials. The reason for this is that the federal government of the United States recognized them as an independent agency dealing with public welfare services (Basuchoudhary and Searle 2019). The other reason I chose the F.B.I. as the focus area for this agency is that the F.B.I. deals with and provides a wide range of information that will allow me to learn about the various functions that are essential to keeping the agency running. The F.B.I. ensures that they provide security and empower civilian freedom in the long run by doing so. This ensures that Americans can enjoy their country without having to worry about financial obligations.
Organizational Structure
The FBI is led by the Director, who is Helped by the Deputy Director and an Associate Deputy Director. These top leaders are responsible for overseeing the agency’s branches, offices, and divisions. The Director responds to the United States President. The FBI’s five branches are the National Security Branch, Human Resources, Information Technology, Criminal, Cyber, Response and Services, and Science Technology. Executive Helpants are in charge of overseeing these branches, and the divisions within these branches are managed by deputy Helpant directors. The deputy director is in charge of overseeing the agency’s seven offices and other branches. The SACs are made up of the offices of congressional affairs, public affairs, equal employment opportunity, general counsel, the Ombudsman, professional responsibility, compliance and integrity, and compliance and integrity. These offices provide Helpance to the various branches. As large as the FBI department is, it is easy to assume that it will attract complexities that will slow the agency’s management and efficiency by corrupting the communication procedure, thus slowing the agency’s progress toward realizing its goals and mission. However, this is not the case because the agency is supported by cutting-edge technology, allowing the various divisions to communicate quickly while providing services to US citizens.

Milestones
The F.B.I. established the National Security Branch on September 12th, 2005, which was one of the most significant milestones. This occurred following the September 11th, 2001 attacks. The National Security Branch included new weapons of mass destruction (W.M.D. ), the Counterintelligence Division (CD), the F.B.I.’s Counterterrorism Division (CTD), and the Directorate of Intelligence (DI). Following the September 11th attacks, the FBI began to monitor all public areas. Aside from that, the F.B.I. was able to keep the United States safe because it was able to deploy sophisticated technology surveillance in various areas. The addition of the National Security Branch, as well as the other branches, Helps the F.B.I. in maintaining the safety of Americans. Following the establishment of the branch, any attack against Americans was prevented and dismantled. Aside from that, the FBI has added linguistics to its ranks. Because the FBI is a global organization, it is critical to have people who can speak and translate other languages fluently, as this will make communication easier and faster. Because of the increased number of languages, with a focus on North Africa and the Middle East, the F.B.I. has been able to train a large number of people through the Translation Quality Control Program. This is critical for promoting diversity within the agency.
Possible Root Causes Policy Implementation Impediments
Many effects, such as time and resources set aside for each candidate who has applied for the position, can impede organizational design. The time spent selecting qualified candidates is commendable. A significant amount of time and money is spent on each potential candidate, which cannot be recovered if that candidate does not qualify. The F.B.I. then conducts a thorough background investigation, including the administration of a polygraph test (Gutiérre, 2019). Then comes a top-secret clearance, which is only used by the F.B.I. Another possible cause is the F.B.I.’s large size, which may impede effective communication within each division. If something goes wrong, it may take a long time to allocate the problem and find the source, as opposed to a medium-sized agency, where pinpointing may be more accessible and simple.
Recommendations
Because there are so many items to consider, the budget in larger agencies can be very thin. An individual can become overworked at some point, depending on the position. Aside from that, the Deputy Director will lighten the Deputy Director’s load. With a lighter workload, the Deputy Director will be able to devote more time and energy to the offices. Another suggestion is to divide the Resources Planning Office and the Inspection Division among the Directors. Both Deputy Directors will work to lend a helping hand and are close to being able to bounce ideas off others in order to move the agency forward. The reduced workload allows the Deputy Director to focus entirely on the offices. This is due to the offices providing high-quality support to the branches and divisions.
