A key strength of visualization is the ability to quickly enlighten you with key data. Although the focus is on simplicity, the researcher has an obligation to present these graphical displays in a clear and meaningful way. Visual displays were used to transmit thoughts and ideas to others as far back as the ancient world. This is especially true in statistics, where the ability to display data is crucial.

This week, you will learn about the various types of data visualisations and why graphically presenting data can help to tell the “narrative” of the information. You will also begin to develop your own visual displays of data to help you learn more and improve your skills.
