This week we are learning about several different motivational theories and three in particular are arguably interrelated. Namely, these theories are Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Alderfer’s ERG Theory, and Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory. Analyze these three theories and look for commonalities and differences. Hint: we will be covering these theories in class. Overall, the theories have multi-step elements comprising of motivation levels that people experience and have different ideas regarding the number of motivational factors that are experienced by individuals.
