Among the significant contributions that Steve Jobs made to computer science is revolutionizing how music has listened and how different Media can be accessed. Jobs was able to take existing technology and devices such as multitouch gestures and computer mouse, transforming them to become part of one highly integrated system (Deutschman, 2018). These developments demonstrate his deep understanding of how an entire computer system works and can be built or redesigned. When Jobs returned to Apple in 1996, Apple purchased NEXT, and he used this computer to build the foundation for the modern OS X operating system (Storch Rudall, 2012). Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the Web inventor, used the NeXT computer to develop the initial browser responsible for the invention of today’s internet (Deutschman, 2018). According to Berners-Lee, the NeXT computer made it quite easy for him to program the World Wide Web client (Deutschman, 2018). These milestones are clear demonstrations of Steve Jobs’s influence on modern computer science.
In conclusion, Steve Jobs’s legacy endures to date owing to the huge contributions he made to the field of computer science.
