During this semester, we have discussed/learned about different management

During this semester, we have discussed/learned about different management and/or leadership styles as well as, theories of management/supervision.
Please review these different styles and think about what your management/leadership style may be.
Research and find someone (may be more than 1) that you feel has the same type of management/leadership style as yours. i.e., a religious leader, president of a company, famous owner of a company, etc.
Key (type) a paper giving the reasons you have chosen the management/leadership style you have chosen, why you chose the person you chose, etc. Make sure this is very thorough.

Leadership styles –
Middle-of-the-road management- places equal emphasis on people and production
Team management- high concern for both people and production
Structuring and telling style- used with individuals or groups relatively less ready for a given task
Coaching and selling style- used with individuals or groups with potential but haven’t realized it
Participating and supporting style – best used with ready individuals or groups
Delegating and empowering style- used with exceptionally ready and capable individuals and groups
Developmental leadership- an approach that helps groups evolve effectively and achieve highly supportive, open, creative, committed, high performing membership
Heroic managers- managers who have a great need for control or influence and who want to run things
Transformational leadership- converts followers into leaders and may convert leaders into moral agents
Transactional leadership- leaders identify desired performance standards and recognize what types of rewards employees want from their work
Adaptive leadership- organizational members take a hard look at the past to identify what to hold on to, while deciding what needs to go. Employee participation in the change process is the key.
Servant leadership- defines success as giving and measures achievement by devotion to serving and leading. Winning becomes the creation of community through collaboration and team building.

Please consider these many styles and consider your own management/leadership style.

Find someone (or more than one) who you believe has the same management/leadership style as you. For example, a religious leader, a corporation’s president, a well-known corporate owner, and so on.

Key (type) a paper explaining why you chose the management/leadership style you did, why you chose the person you did, and so on. Make certain that this is done thoroughly.
