In this final reflective journal entry, write a letter to your current self

In this final reflective journal entry, write a letter to your current self, after revisiting and re-reading your letter to yourself from the beginning of this course. In the letter, explain specifically how you met the three major goals you hoped to achieve in the beginning of the course. Describe the historical research skills and key topics you learned most about and explain what you plan to do with the knowledge and skills you gained. Discuss how you leveraged skills you always had, and present how you overcame challenges to learn more about African American history.
Consider the following as jumping-off questions for your reflection.
• How can knowledge of African American history help us all better understand the present and future?
• What were your specific learning goals in this class? How did you meet or exceed these goals? Do these relate to personal or professional goals?
• What would you still like to learn more about?
• In what ways does the narrative of African American history conflict with or build from historical narratives that you are already familiar with?
• If you could give others taking this course in the future a word of advice, what would that be? My advice would to take this class by itself
Journal entries should be approximately 250 words (1-2 paragraphs). Embed at least 3 photos, images, links to stories, music, videos, or articles in addition to a brief 1–2 paragraph reflective summary.

My paper was on Marcus Garvey (write how he impact the back culture in America )
Add 3 pictures
one of marcus garvey put a note how he was significant to black history in America
One on rosa park and put a note how she was significant to black history in America
A picture that means a thousand words in black history

Below is the letter I wrote to myself earlier this course

I feel that learning about African American history is learning about American history. Learning about history shows up what not to repeat. There are so many heroes that we have never heard about in school. My goals for this class is to learn about the many struggles and unsung heroes so, that I can teach my children. This ties into both my personal and professional goals. My father took a class when he was in college and told me he discovered so many things that he wasn’t taught. I often have these conversations about African American history and achievements are being buried. That it is the responsibility of blacks to seek the information for ourselves if it is not offered to us. The advice that I would give to my future self in about this course don’t take this course with other class that it needs more than nine hours of studying.

Dear Current Self,

Congratulations on completing the course on African American history. It has been a long journey, but I am proud of you for sticking to your goals and finishing strong. Revisiting the letter you wrote to yourself at the beginning of the course, I am happy to see that you have met your three major goals. You have learned about the struggles and unsung heroes of African American history, which has helped you better understand American history. You also acquired new historical research skills and learned about key topics that will help you teach your children about their history.

The knowledge and skills you gained from this course will serve you well in the future. As you already know, learning about African American history can help us better understand the present and future. It can help us to identify and challenge systems of oppression and fight for equality and justice. Additionally, you learned about the significant contributions of African Americans to American society, which will help you appreciate the diverse contributions of all people to the country.

During the course, you learned about Marcus Garvey and his impact on the black culture in America. His teachings of self-reliance and self-determination inspired many people to take pride in their blackness and culture. You also learned about Rosa Parks, who refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama bus, sparking the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the civil rights movement. These heroes, along with many others, fought for equal rights and justice for African Americans.

As you continue to grow and learn, there is still more to discover about African American history. One thing you may want to explore further is the intersectionality of race and gender, which can deepen your understanding of the experiences of African American women. Additionally, you can continue to research and learn about the struggles and accomplishments of other minority groups.

Finally, I want to commend you for overcoming the challenges of this course. Learning about African American history can be difficult and emotional, especially when confronting the injustices and oppression faced by African Americans. However, you pushed through and acquired new skills and knowledge that will serve you well in your personal and professional life.

If you could give advice to others taking this course in the future, it would be to take this course by itself. It is a course that deserves your full attention and effort. Keep learning and growing, and use your newfound knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the world.

Sincerely,

Your past self.
