Identify and describe each of the four
principles associated with the effective use of chosen reinforcers. Please be
sure to include all four. Additionally, reference an example from your personal
or professional life in which you or someone you know attempted to use
reinforcement to modify a behavior, but the procedures did not work. Describe
how the individual violated these procedures so no change took place. Discuss
how did the individual selected the reinforcer, including any possible issues
with the reinforcer chosen. For example, you might describe how your spouse
gave an allowance at the end of a week to your child when he did his chores but
that, when your spouse changed his allowance to every other week, he or she saw
a decrease in chore compliance. Be sure to discuss an example that is not

study examples that use a multiple baseline approach. See your text,
pp.158,160, and 163.
Second, select one of the three cases,
and describe the strengths and weaknesses of this multiple baseline design.
Make sure to discuss both the impact of the particular multiple baseline design
on the internal and external validity of the study, as well as the ethical,
legal, and sociocultural considerations associated with this design.
Third, how might you improve upon this
study? What would you add and what might you take away? Why? Finally, would it

Design a behavior change plan for a
10-year-old girl who kicks, bites, and punches others during recess on the
playground. To do so, select one of the multiple baseline methods that you read
about this week. Be sure to provide a clear rationale as to why this particular
multiple baseline approach would work best here, and be creative with your
behavior change plan. Finally, share an example of a situation where it would
make sense to use either a multiple probe or a delayed baseline design instead
of the more traditional multiple baseline method. Be sure to include your
rationale in your answer.
